Adopted at the age of 3 years old, Pastor Danny was raised in
a Christian home by two loving parents, Mitchell and Mabel
Medell. Pastor Danny grew up in the Southern Baptist
Church. It was in his 9th grade year that Danny began to feel
God's call on his life.
Danny was licensed to the Gospel Ministry in November of
1986. Through the years he has served as Children's
Minister, Ministry Intern, Minister of Music, Minister of
Youth. During the summer of 1986, Danny also served as a
Student Missionary in Dinosaur, Colorado.
During his time in Wichita, Danny has served as Minster of
Music and Associate Pastor. Before becoming Pastor at A
Journey In The Light Ministries, he most recently served as
Minister of Music for seven years at another local
congregation.

Pastoring has been a call on Danny's life since he first felt God's call back in the 9th
grade. God has been good, and has given him a lot of valuable ministry training in a
variety of ministry roles. Pastor Danny's recent dual ordination as a Minister of the
Word and Sacrament through A Journey In The Light Ministries and as a Minister
under the umbrella of Diversity Christian Fellowship International (Tulsa, OK), is the
continuing fulfillment of that calling.
Being a first time Pastor, Danny told the new congregation at A Journey In The Light
Ministries that "we will all learn and grow together". Pastor Danny is very pleased to
be a part of A Journey In The Light Ministries, and is excited about the great things
God is doing and knows that the best is yet to come.
